GD Vape Nerds.
I like the VooPoo Drag 6, it's currently listed as the best vape mod option inside our 2026 Best Vapes Guide.
But I do have some thoughts on it, especially when compared to its predecessor, the VooPoo Drag 5.β
The BIG controversy with the Drag 6 is that it now runs a non-removable, 4400mAh internal battery which effectively turns it into a single-use device with a finite lifespan because when the battery dies (and it eventually will), the mod will become useless and no longer work.
Could you replace it? Maybe, providing you have all the gear and perhaps an engineering degree.
But that's not the point.
The point is this: my OG VooPoo Drag from freakin' 2017 still works fine.
It's bashed to bits and looks like shite, but it still works.
And the reason? It runs on removable 18650 cells.
The Drag 6 does not and this is where my slight problem with it comes into focus.
Again, I say, slight, because we now live in a world of single-use, landfill-fodder products (disposable vapes, phones, tablets, AirPods, the list goes on and on), so it's not like VooPoo is breaking with convention.
But as someone that's used all of its DRAG series mods, going all the way back to the beastly OG model, I always just kind of assumed it'd be a dual-18650 setup.
To be fair, for "modern users" (a nice way of referring to disposable vape fiends) will appreciate the updates, and probably those who have only used refillable pod vapes and closed systems like JUUL and other prefilled vapes.
But us old-school vapers, the guys and gals that have been around since the early days? Guess we're not factored into the decisions much these days...
Here's my full report on how the new battery design performs in real life.
Let me know your thoughts on this.
Peace.
